Threshold Edition #6
Finders Keepers 1-3
Ian Jackson
Finders Keepers by Ian Jackson is now available to purchase through Threshold Editions. Jackson has produced three individual editions, which have been included in his work Hot Dip, 2025, exhibited in Sharp Edges (1-30 November 2025).
Jackson’s practice explores the histories and languages of materials and processes. The Finders Keepers editions are part of an ongoing research project centering on the London plane tree.
The London plane tree sheds its bark to protect itself from urban pollution. The collection of these polluted shards of discarded material forms the basis of Jacksons edition. This collection is combined with research into hot- dip metal galvanisation- a process where steel is dipped into a bath of molten zinc to protect the material from corrosion from the elements.
Jacksons edition uses these two material investigations to explore ideas of boundary objects, value, ecologies of and use of materials. Moulds have been made from fragments of London plane tree bark, and then cast in jesmonite, and finished with a zinc spray coating. There are three different versions available.
Many thanks to Yvonne Baines, artist and mould-making technician for supporting the production of the casts.
